Chameleon Project (CP) is releasing it’s first new full-length album in eight years on Saturday June 8th. Vanishing Point, documents the band’s sound as they crest their twentieth year, of forging a unique path through the outer reaches of psychedelic dance music. Over time, the Project’s sound has morphed several times. The wisdom of time and the years of dedication to dance floor psychedelia, have paid off and the bands’ sound has coalesced into a finely tuned groove-machine that can cut like a knife and blast off into space. Produced by Snappy Homefry at Playhouse Studios (Toronto, ON), Vanishing Point finds Chameleon Project at their most smooth and refined.
To celebrate the momentous event Chameleon Project will be debuting the tracks from Vanishing Point live in an extended set of psychedelic dance music at the legendary Horseshoe Tavern (370 Queen St. W).
Warming things up for the Chameleon Project will be
Shapes is an electrifying musical force that defies categorization. With a distinctive blend of rock, blues, afrobeat, and funk, this talented group of musicians pushes the boundaries of traditional genres, creating a unique sonic experience that captivates audiences wherever they go.
Their lyrics are clever and silly, often exploring thought-provoking themes while keeping a playful edge. Their onstage banter and charismatic presence further enhance the immersive experience of their live performances, creating an atmosphere that is both electrifying and entertaining.
Opening the night will be a welcome new addition to the Toronto jam-band scene Animal. This quartet are devoted to the creation of original music that is directly inspired by the path forged by legends of the genre such as The Grateful Dead & Phish.
